Residents staying at Houton Bay Lodge benefit from direct access to an extensive range of facilities provided at the adjoining Houton Inn. Residents at Houton Bay Lodge have their own entrance to Houton Inn, located just off the reception area. These facilities include:

  • Cosy lounge bar – furnished to a high standard, and displaying archive photographs illustrating the former Houton Bay Seaplane Base of bygone days, the lounge bar offers a full range of beers (draught and bottled) and spirits, including local specialist Orkney beers and malt whisky’s, plus bar snacks and sandwiches.

 

  • The Restaurant – providing mouth-watering meals to suit all tastes, with excellent service and all at moderate cost. The Restaurant is open for lunches and dinners, as well as providing a hearty breakfast for residents staying at Houton Bay Lodge.

 

  • Residents TV Lounge and Conservatory – a place to relax with a cup of coffee or a drink from the bar. Watch the 43" widescreen TV, or simply enjoy unforgettable views of Houton Bay and the hills of Hoy beyond, not forgetting the unique and vast natural harbour of Scapa Flow and the Sound of Hoy.

 

  • >The Games room – offering a full-size English Billiard Table (for snooker as well!), a pool table, and darts. Table tennis may also be available at certain times of the day. The Houton Inn makes a small charge for use of these excellent facilities.

 

  • Internet Business Centre. Four high-spec workstations utilising dedicated telephone lines are situated in the reception area. Ideal for anyone trying to catch up on business emails, or for more leisurely demands. Again, a small charge (£1 per hour) is made for use of this service.

 

Houton Inn and Houton Bay Lodge B&B can also offer facilities to accommodate groups for meetings, seminars, functions, dinners etc. Regular events such as concerts, folk groups etc are held throughout the year. Please enquire for more information.
